Loading out Cattle

                   

    

We loaded out two "pot loads" of yearling cattle this morning. Temp was 35 degrees, reminiscent of our days in Colorado and Wyoming! A good year for grazing with no death loss and good gains! A rancher's dream!

Working Dogs

My first sheep dog trial in 3 1/2 years. We had a great day! I hadn't blogged about Rob. I got him in July and he became my new trial dog. He is 8 years old and we have become a good team!

I felt like it was time for an update photo of Claire! Her training is going well and I'm enjoying her immensely. Ok I'll just say it...I'm very attached!! She is loads of fun and quite the character! Very smart and learns things quickly!

Finn is six months old today! The photo doesn't really show his size, but he is as big as my grown BCs!

I'm super excited about this pup. He is super biddable, loves life, and his now going horseback with me!

Molly

        

This is Molly, the puppies' mama. A friend of a friend is away from home for over a month, and they needed someone to care for the brood! In return for the care, I get to choose one for myself! I know many of you know that I have Border Collies primarily to help,with the ranch work. But my dream is to train one for the big trials, especially the Meeker Classic. I lost my best dog 3 years ago, and have not found the dog that really fits me for trialing. I have a really, really good ranch dog, and an adequate back up dog. So with Finn (updated photo coming tomorrow) and then this puppy, who is out of really nice trial dogs, I hoping I'll find that fit.
