...PEEK a BOO.

This week's photo challenge over at Our Beautiful World was "BOO".

These are two of the four youngest kittens. Mama Kitty just recently brought them to the barn and they are still very skittish. Every time I come near they run and hide and then "peek out" to see what I am doing. I call them the "Peek a Boo" kitties.

Gather...Sheep Dog Trial Style

This week's Photo Challenge at Our Beautiful World is "Gather". An interesting concept to photograph and I enjoyed every photo listed in the linkup. But for me "Gather" signifies bringing in livestock. These are photos of my Border Collie, Tate. He died in 2013, so these are old photos. In Sheep Dog Trialing, the Gather is comprised of three components - 1) Outrun - the dog is released from the side of the handler, to make a large pear shaped run around the sheep. The dog must arrive at the opposite side of the sheep and not disturb them in the process. 2) Lift - Once the dog has completed the outrun, he must begin moving the stock in an orderly manner toward the handler. 3) Fetch - The dog now brings the sheep to the handler, quietly and as much in a straight path as possible.

Tate being released for his outrun.

Tate has arrived at the back of the sheep, lifted them and has begun the fetch.

Tate has completed the fetch and is holding the stock in position close to me, the handler.

I'm linking up with Our Beautiful World with their weekly photo challenge.

This week's theme was weather. I've wonder how to take a photo of clear, breezy and very dry, but this evening there was a slight change in the western sky. Wispy "mare's tails" clouds and a very small "sun dog" which is a sign of a chance for a "weather" change. I posted two photos, one with natural light and the other with the "sunset" setting on my camera. If you look very closely, you can see the small rainbow (sun dog) to the right of the end of the jet trail.

What Is It?

I think it is time for a mystery photo!!!

(Really, it is my bedtime and alas, no photo, so saw something, snapped a shot and decided to see if anyone could guess not only the object of focus, but where it is!)

I'll reveal on Friday. I do something fun for the winner!! So leave your comments if you want a surprise!

Happy Day!

Turning Over a New Leaf...

...I'm purposing to take a photo and POST it every day for the rest of the year.

A small quilt I recently finished - a new quilting design in the border! A NEW LEAF so to speak!
