2014 Photo Journal - Day 57 - Algerita Blossoms

Though they are tiny (my fingertip at the bottom of the photo) the bushes are loaded and the aroma is heady! With no more freezes we will have berries in May with which to make some yummy jelly!

2014 Photo Journal - Day 55 - Misty Morning

I snapped this photo - plus a few more this morning as I thought it would only last a few hours, but it was like this all day!

2014 Photo Journal - Day 48 - Cow Gap

Brady Mountain is the rocky escarpment that is approximately the northern boundary of the Edwards Plateau. The mountain (escarpment) stretches about 40 miles running East and West. We live at the base of the mountain just about in the middle. There are two major thoroughfares "through" the mountain and one of them is called "Cow Gap". It is about 5 miles East of where we live. This "gap" got it's name as it was on the Western Cattle Trail. The trail was in use when Mike's great grandfather settled and lived in the Lohn Valley.

I had traveled away from the ranch today, and as I returned in the late afternoon, the mountain was just so pretty - couldn't resist taking a few snapshots! Hope you enjoyed the little history lesson.

2014 Photo Journal - Day 47 - Math Day

I teach math two days a week to a friend's son. They are homeschoolers. I homeschooled our four kids through their freshman year of high school so it has been a fun experience to "teach" again!.

What interesting fact about you does the rest of the photo gang not know?

2014 Photo Journal - Day 46 - New Favorite Book

This is a lousy photo, but I've really been trying to post things that I see and do that day. I read something from this book nearly every day. It has been a wonderful help in my dog training. Besides, the photo on the cover is one of my favorites, too!

2014 Photo Journal - Day 38 - Injury...

...just part of having livestock. This one is on the rump of a yearling filly. Not an injury that is life threatening or even causing lameness, though it will require care for several weeks.
