2014 Photo Journal - Day 48 - Cow Gap

Brady Mountain is the rocky escarpment that is approximately the northern boundary of the Edwards Plateau. The mountain (escarpment) stretches about 40 miles running East and West. We live at the base of the mountain just about in the middle. There are two major thoroughfares "through" the mountain and one of them is called "Cow Gap". It is about 5 miles East of where we live. This "gap" got it's name as it was on the Western Cattle Trail. The trail was in use when Mike's great grandfather settled and lived in the Lohn Valley.

I had traveled away from the ranch today, and as I returned in the late afternoon, the mountain was just so pretty - couldn't resist taking a few snapshots! Hope you enjoyed the little history lesson.
